Almond meal shares the same amazing benefits as almonds. They are high in:

  • Vitamin E, folate and niacin.
  • Calcium, phosphorus, potassium & zinc.
  • Monounsaturated fats & iron.

1/4 cup of almond meal contains 138 calories, 5 grams of protein and 11 grams of fat. However, 7 of those 11 grams of fat are the heart healthy monounsaturated fats and less than 1 gram of saturated fat.

Due to its popularity, there are thousands of recipes that call for almond meal and these recipes produce fantastic results. Almond meal is much heavier than a traditional flour, so if you're looking to swap almond meal for a traditional flour in a recipe, be sure to mix almond meal with another flour.

Almond meal can also be used as a thickening agent. Sprinkle a few spoonfuls into soups and stews to thicken them up without an altered flavour.

Bake up some healthy muffins, breads, cookies & bars.
